paris shootings letter

Dear Mom and Dad,

You have probably heard about the recent shootings in Paris and are scared out of your minds. I am writing to put your mind to rest. I am okay even though the shooting was 5 kilometers from where I was in Paris. I am so scared but I am also okay.The school took me to Cannes which is over 900 kilometers from where I am. So don't worry. Being so close to this event really made me think about free speech and how we use it. i think that they were expressing their rights as free speech and that they did nothing wrong by expressing their opinion. Although their images were a little graphic, I still believe that any act of violence (especially this extreme) is completely unethical and the people who died did not deserve to. If you haven't already heard, the two terrorists were killed today along with another terrorist who was linked to them. This is a clear example of how freedom of speech is much more powerful than any weapon in the world. The ability to express powerful words is more infectious than any disease. I believe the terrorists were scared that the pictures were going to hop up out of the page and kill them. But they weren't
